The first run was not so good, so the team made some changes and tried again... the following photos should give you a good indication of what happened...
At this point, the motor has blown up and we are done pulling for the rest of the season.
It is late at night, and everyone is trying to come up with ideas to be able to run on Saturday, then someone throws us a life saver... Our hero arrives, the Blown Budget pulling team offers to take the motor out of their truck, so that it can go into Under Pressure if the Under Pressure crew would drive to Fergus to pick up the naturally aspirated motor that Blown Budget ran last year.
At 2AM, a crew sets out to pick up that motor. They arrive back in Collingwood at 5:30AM and the team jumps into action, pulling the 496 out of Under Pressure without a wink of sleep.
The next step is to pull the blower motor out of Blown Budget... And put it into Under Pressure... With a few modifications to Under Pressure, we manage to make it fit...
Our team tries to get rest and motivation any way they can...
But there is still work to be done... we still need to replace the motor in Blown Budget...
With the motors swapped, they work on getting them to run, and it's almost time to pull... Of course, the Blown Budget truck starts up with no problems, while the Under Pressure truck finds more problems, however with just a few more changes, Under Pressure is ready to go pulling again!
The Under Pressure Pulling team is so grateful to all of the Super Mod pulling teams and the Under Pressure Pulling Team members who were there to help us out and make this all possible.
By the way, we won 1st place at the pull after a sleepless night.
They don't call us Under Pressure for nothing!
Once Upon A Time.... In a place not so far away, the motor in Under Pressure blew up the day before the Collingwood truck pull. All of the villagers wanted to help, and wanted Under Pressure to pull, and so began the all-nighter that was The Great Motor Swap of 2008.
The Under Pressure pulling team arrived in Collingwood at approximately 10 pm on Friday Sept 19 2008. Since the truck hadn't been running quite right, and we wanted to put on a great show on Saturday night, it was decided to put on a demo run during the tractor pull that was happening that evening.
